Exploratory Building with Marshmallows

Pinterest has this ability to convince us that we just might start carrying out these intricate and extravagant and amazing activities with our kiddos...but listen, don't pin ideas that you'll never do...pin the gems that are easy to implement...things you can do with stuff you already have on hand.

For example, check out this Marshmallow Building Activity!

Exploratory Building with Marshmallows

For this activity, you will need:

marshmallows
(Any size would be fun!)
toothpicks
(Wooden or plastic ones will do!)

Directions:
Allow children to use the marshmallows and toothpicks to freely create:
basic geometric shapes
3-D designs
advanced structures
The sky's the limit!

This is more about exploratory building for my little guys, but older kids love using this activity for geometry...going 3-D is especially fun!
