The Best Advice I've Ever Received

Some advice just sticks with you...and makes a difference in the way you go about your days. Over the years, I have had some incredible people pour in to my life, and many of them have spoken simple words that have made all the difference.

Today, I am sharing some The Best Advice I've Ever Received:

On Dating:
"It's better to not have what you want than to have what you don't want."

On Marriage:
"Don't worry about how your husband folds the towels. Just be glad you didn't have to fold them."

On Teaching:
"Prioritize. Then prioritize. Then reprioritize all of that."

On Moving:
"Eat the elephant one bite at a time."

On Motherhood:
Go with your gut. & Stay off the Internet.

On Potty-training:
"How many 16-year olds do you know who still wet their pants?"

On Toddlers:
When they're tired, don't fight with them. Put them to bed.

On Pre-schoolers:
When they're tired, don't fight with them. Put them to bed.

On Children:
When they're tired, don't fight with them. Put them to bed.

On Teenagers:
When they're tired, don't fight with them. Put them to bed.
*smile*

On Maintaining an Organized Space:
"If you want a cleaner space, have a less stuff." & Have a place for the stuff you choose to keep.

On Home-Management:
Have at least one flat space that you focus on keeping clear.

On Stuff:
Less is more.

On Life:
God gives us what we need for the moment...for each day...try to keep from living in the future.

  2. Words of wisdom spoken! Definately agree with the less is more on stuff. I'm amazed at how much "stuff" people have and then complain they don't have enough room. The stuff is what is taking up so much space. Happy to be co-hosting with you on Tuesday Talk!

  5. Great advice!

"When they're tired, don't fight with them. Put them to bed." SO True!

"Don't worry about how your husband folds the towels. Just be glad you didn't have to fold them." Some days I need to take that advice. ;)

And I completely agree that less stuff = cleaner house. I just wish I was better getting rid of the stuff.
