Though it has been very, very, very hot around here lately, we are definitely enjoying our summer!
We have been giving the grill a workout...
Spending as much time as possible outside...
And doing a little bit of traveling.
A few weeks ago, hubby and I spent a few days in the Savannah, Georgia/Tybee Island area. We enjoyed a little beach time, a smidge of sight-seeing, but our favorite thing to do is eat our way through that city. Have you ever eaten at The Olde Pink House? It's amazing!
Over the past couple of weeks, my friend has been in town visiting with us and loving on my kids! Having her here gave me a chance to kick back and relax a bit - throwing a lot of my usual responsibilities to the wind - and it was glorious! Hubby even kept the kids for a few days so she and I could enjoy a girl's trip to the beach. We focused on the waves, good books, and delicious food.
(Do you see a pattern here with me?)
Now that my friend has returned to her home many, many miles away, I am slowly getting back to reality. You know that "camp is over" feeling you had as a kid? That's how I've been feeling.
P.S. I actually didn't really like camp, but you know what I'm saying.
This morning, I had a baby doctor appointment. It was so much fun. You know why? Because it was the one-hour glucose test...and when I arrived, I was informed that the a.c. was out in the building...and I got to sit there for over an hour...with no a.c. It was so much fun.
P.S. I almost died.
In spite of the first-world problems I experienced during this morning's visit, all seems well with baby, and we are getting more and more excited about her arrival. I am still finishing up her laundry...and Operation Freezer Meal Prep will begin shortly after the Fourth of the July, but other than that, we are pretty much all set.
P.S. I might buy a few more bows...just a few.
