Just in time for the Fourth of July, I have some sweet and simple ideas to make your casual holiday a little extra-special!
Sweet & Simple Fourth of July
When it comes to the Fourth of July, I love finding foods that are patriotic in color and then I love the extra pizzazz of adding a few little red, white, and blue accents.
Around here, we like to keep things casual - usually eating on decorative paper plates and enjoying the simplest of treats...like watermelon! Is anything better than watermelon?
I keep these kind of holiday accents (pictured above) - as well as cupcake liners, seasonal cookie cutters, holiday treat bags, etc. - organized in small plastic bins and stored in my kitchen. At very little cost to me, I found a great way to provide order when it comes to all of the seasonal items that I like to keep handy in the kitchen: $.88 Kitchen Organization.
This year, keep it fun & easy with this red, white, and blue flag cake!
Looking for another easy dessert? It doesn't get much easier than this Blueberry Cobbler, and I've never found a cobbler recipe that I love more!
While this treat is not red, white, and blue, it is definitely all-American and perfect for the Fourth of July: Perfect Apple Dumplings. They are....perfect....in every way.
Around Memorial Day I featured some of my favorite ideas for main dishes and appetizers that would be perfect for your holiday weekend! There is plenty of savory - as well as a little sweet - mixed in to this round-up of ideas.
