How to Create Peppermint Candy Ornaments

How to Create Peppermint Candy Ornaments

To create these adorable peppermint ornaments, round up the following items:
A Baking Sheet
Parchment Paper
Cooking Spray
[Metal] Holiday Cookie Cutters
1 Bag of Peppermint Candy
A Toothpick

Begin by laying a sheet of parchment paper out on your baking sheet.
Then place your metal cookie cutters on top of the parchment paper.
Spray the inside of each cookie cutter with cooking spray.
Place unwrapped peppermint candies inside each cookie cooker - As many as each will hold.
(For some of the empty spaces, we filled them in with crushed pieces of extra peppermint candies.)

Bake in a 350 degree oven for approximately 10 minutes. The original instructions we found recommended 3-5 minutes, but with ours, that did not seem to be enough time. Just watch your oven and when your creations begin to look like this, you're ready to go!
After taking them out of the oven, immediately use a toothpick to create a holes that will allow you to hang your ornaments using ribbon or twine.
As your ornaments cool, they will begin to look like this!
If you just want to use them for this season and this discard, you're all set to hang!
However, if you're wanting to keep them for a number of years, you will want to seal them with specialized spray.
They are so, so cute! Kids love making them!
