I use my calendar for lots of things! I like to insert notes about meal planning. (My idea of meal planning is literally meal titles written on each daily square - Sometimes it happens, and sometimes it doesn't. It's really that simple for me. This stage of life just does not allow for much more beyond that.)
This is my favorite way to glance at a month~ I love having a nice little square for each day.

From time to time, I also like to use the squares for jotting down notes about various developmental milestones that my kiddos have reached; my little ones' weight/height measurements; major news happenings, etc. My calendar has actually become a journal of sorts. This stage of life just does not allow for much more beyond that. (I feel like I've already mentioned that.)
In 2014, I'm adding another dimension to my calendar. I was inspired by "Under the Sycamore's" "Best of My Days" Project. I love the idea of making gratitude a daily focus. So, in 2014 - on my calendar blocks - I plan to jot down the small things that make my heart swell with thankfulness. If I really stopped to think about God's goodness, a calendar square would not provide nearly enough space, but I am limiting myself to one thing each day - one small written phrase that describes something about that day for which I am thankful. Sure, there will be days when I forget. Sure, there will be weeks when I "get behind". During those times, I will give myself grace - as my overall purpose is to foster a sense of gratitude in our home...in my heart...in the hearts' of my children...
January 1st: Playtime as a Family of Four
January 2nd: I got to drink my coffee while it was still warm!
This stage of life just does not allow for much more beyond that.
Happy New Year, everyone!
