If you are looking for a quiet activity that will keep your little one engaged for at least a few minutes, give Pom Pom Sorting a try!
All you need are various sizes/colors of pom poms (sold at most craft stores or department stores) and an ice tray or two (I found these Wal-mart).
My toddler enjoys putting the pom poms in the tray(s) and then taking them out...or dumping them out, actually. (He's all boy!)
With my older pre-schooler, I like to encourage him to sort the Pom Poms by colors or size...and lately, he has been experimenting with creating patterns within the tray(s) or creating basic addition/subtraction scenarios.
Up for more fun with pom poms?
How about giving Pom Pom Painting a try?
