How to Make Christmas Trail Mix

I have heard this concoction called all different kinds of things...Reindeer Food...Trash Can Mix...I'm honestly not sure what to call it...so I'll call it "Christmas Trail Mix".

How to Make Christmas Trail Mix
Christmas Trail Mix

This treat is so easy to make - My pre-schooler loved being a part of adding ingredients to the bowl and folding the mixture together!

An entire bag of red & green peanut M & Ms is the perfect way to start!
These Christmas pretzels were a fun addition - I probably used half of a large bag.
Then I added about a half of a box of Rice Chex cereal.
I tossed these goodies around in a large bowl.
In a double boiler, I melted half of a package of white almond bark, then drizzled it over the mixture. I tossed it all together to coat and then spread it out on wax paper to dry.
This is one of the easiest Christmas treats I've ever made...
...and it looked adorable packaged up in these cupcake boxes.
Give this a try and let me know what you think!

The PERFECT Wrapping Paper

Looking for the perfect wrapping paper?
Paper that's not just for the holidays but can be used all throughout the year?

This gigantic roll of wrapping paper can be found at Lowe's...

and when I say it's gigantic, it has A LOT of paper on it!

There are so many beautiful ways you can decorate packages wrapped in brown paper.
Do a quick search on Pinterest - gorgeous ideas!
(Grab a roll of twine as well - It looks great tied on brown paper.)

Check out some these ideas!

How sweet are these 8 Gift Wrap Ideas from Cosmo Cricket?

How gorgeous is it paired with bold black ribbon and these tags from Jones Design Company?

Adding photos? Perfect idea from Homestead Revival!

Tim Holz chose some super sweet embellishments!

I love Lia Griffith's textured look - achieved by wrinkling!

I can't get enough - neither can Hello Bee!

Peppermint Sugar Cookies

If you're looking for a holiday treat that is fun and festive yet easy to make, these Peppermint Sugar Cookies are perfect!

To make life easy, pick up a bag/box of pre-mixed Sugar Cookie mix - unless, of course, you have a homemade recipe you'd prefer to use for this step!

Also pick up a bag of Hershey's Candy Candy Cane Kisses, and let your little ones help you unwrap them! (Be prepared...your kids will eat half of the Hershey's Kisses.)

As soon as your warm sugar cookies come out of the oven, plop one of these little yummies on top of each one! Let your little ones help you do this step as well!
P.S. Your kids will probably eat most of the cookies, too.

If you haven't, please let me encourage you to do so immediately!

Fruity Tooty Whip

One of our favorite go-to treats is Fruity Tooty Whip.
Fruity Tooty Whip

How do we make it?

We start by putting a large dollop of Cool Whip in the bottom of a small bowl...
then we top with fruit!

Any kind of fruit goes, and it is perfectly delicious every single time!

For an added touch, top the fruit with crushed graham crackers. This seems to be the perfect addition especially if you have any strawberries or bananas in your fruit mixture.

Enjoy!

Crispy Chicken Garden Salad

This Crispy Chicken Garden Salad is a simple meal idea that is perfect for hectic lunchtimes and busy weeknights!

If you've followed along with me for long, you know I like to keep my recipes simple!
Many of them take on a semi-homemade approach - With that being said, feel free to use a bagged salad mix as your base for this recipe. Sometimes I do...and sometimes I don't...

Either way, I like to add lots of extra veggies - carrots, broccoli, cheese (oh wait, that's not a vegetable), cucumbers, green onions, etc.

For the chicken, sometimes I use seasoned grilled chicken that I've made at home in my crockpot; but sometimes, I use crispy chicken purchased from one of our favorite local restaurants.

Lazy? I like to think of it as being resourceful. *smile*

Avocado and Boiled Egg? Sure! Add those, too, and then serve with your favorite dressing!
