A Typical Trip to the Local Thrift Store

As you have probably gathered [from my many posts about bargain hunting, couponing, yard sales, etc.], I love a great deal, and today, I thought I would share with you what a typical trip to a thrift store looks like for me.

*This particular post will showcase items from my most recent trip to our local thrift shop.

Two Size 3T Shirts (The Children's Place & Ralph Lauren) for Caleb - $2.79 each

An Old Navy Top for me - $3.99 & A Pair of Tommy Hilfiger Shorts for me - $3.49

A Brand New (w/ tags) Anne Klein Coat - $4.99 (I will either sell this coat on on-line or consign it - Either way, this item will be a money maker.)

New (w/ liner included) Extra-Large Basket - $3.99 (I have been looking for a basket like this. While shopping at Home Goods this past weekend, I saw comparable baskets for $49.99. While shopping at Pottery Barn this week, I spotted similar ones for $129.99.)

2 Crib Skirts (by Baby Gap & My Baby Sam, Inc.) for Isaac - $1.29 each

2 Carter's Baby Blankets - $.99 each (I know. I know. I'm not having a girl this time around - I'm having another boy. However, I will hold on to these blankets just in case. What happens if we never have a girl? I will resell these blankets and make a profit.)

A Brand New (w/ tags) Bathing Suit - $3.99 (I will either sell this swimsuit on on-line or consign it - Either way, this item will be a money maker.)
With my two money-maker items (the Anne Klein coat & the swimsuit), I will not only pay for the items that I purchased for us to keep, but I will come out in the green overall. Addicting? Yes! Easy to tackle with a toddler in the buggy? Now that's another story - This type of shopping is best to do while hubby is at home with the little ones.

Happy Thrifting, everyone! Once you shop, you just can't stop... (Okay, I promise to never, ever, ever say that again.) *smile*

  1. I can see how it could be addicting when you don't end up really paying for anything...

  3. I LOVE thrift shopping. Awesome finds. Reselling is a great idea. We have two boys, and each time I'm pregnant I buy those few girl items hoping for the possibility. When we have a #3 someday, I will probably still do that.

I love thrift shopping and shopping at consignment clothing stores. The outfit I posted this week is from one of those places! Great find on the earrings! ~Ann
