The rest of the weekend...

This weekend...

Well,

I kicked it off with an evening to myself...If you missed my ramblings about that, you might enjoy a glimpse in to my crazy.

Then Saturday morning, "Mommy went to work!"...Around here, that's what we call it anyway!

Most good-weathered, non-travel Saturday mornings look like this for me: I wake up...throw on some comfy clothes...grab a cup of coffee and some peanut butter toast (because I eat that every day...and I've become totally predictable in my old age)...and I head out the door ready to find some bargains.

P.S. This is all happening at 6:00 am.

Friends, the early bird catches the worm.

There seems to be a theme to each weekend of bargain-hunting. Last weekend, I found loads of great goodies for our new little girl who is on her way! Adorable clothes...please let me repeat adorable....perfect Pottery Barn accents for her room...a brand new Burt's Bee's hooded baby bath towel in pink (which I've had my eye on anyway)....and on and on and on my list goes...

This past weekend, the theme was women's clothes for me and clothes for resale! My favorite score was when I got two garbage bags full of amazing clothes - all for $30! White House Black Market, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor Loft, and on and on and on it goes. Garbage bag #2 was nothing but jeans - perfect jeans in my favorite brands - some to resell, but some in my various sizes...because we all know that a woman who is pregnant for the third time will wear a number of different jean sizes over the course of the next year. It's a complicated life I live.

Oh yeah, I love the new handbag that I snagged for $1 - It was the perfect addition to my Mother's Day outfit...yes, the Mother's Day outfit that included a light colored silky top blouse that featured sweat marks under my arms by 9am Sunday morning. Motherhood is glamorous...and sweaty.

I had not really intended to tell you about my sweating issues, but I did...and there's no taking it back now, so all we can do is move on...

By 8:30 am Saturday, I was back home...with all of my bargains...My kids love seeing what I found for them, and it's always fun to surprise them with various things...Caleb loved his new set of dinosaurs - These bad boys are from Learning Resources, and they are amazing! Like we needed more dinosaurs...

Anyway...

We hopped in the mini-van and headed to soccer....

Then we headed to a festival that included free lemonade... (Life is good.)

Then we made our way home for naps... (Life is good.)

Then we took the boys for hair cuts...

Then we went to the strawberry patch...

There's nothing quite like picking your own strawberries...and having allergic reactions to hay...and getting bitten by various bugs...and sweating to death in an open field...and dragging a crying toddler out of the strawberry patch... (Life is good.)

Then we went out for pizza...

Then we came home and checked for ticks (You can get ticks in a strawberry patch, right?)...We didn't want to take any chances...

Then we gave the boys baths and put them to bed...

Then David and I collapsed on the couch...because we had clearly crammed too many things in to one day...

Then we woke up Sunday and started all over again...church....food....naps...

Eating and Napping take up most of our time around here...
